Literature Text

The first lie I told you
Was that I thought
You hair sparkled like wine
And that our lips
Tasted like love.

The second lie
Was that I wanted you
solely for your curves.

You'd always count the number
Of dinky little stars
That I had in my room.
You'd stare at them as if
they were your life
Played out before your eyes.

I remember we made up
New constellations there
While we laid choking
On the scent of the other.

My first truth
Is probably this.

You'll never be temporary
Nor will ever be.
You're too much of a sun
To this ratty old weed.
Part 2 of 2.
